Lemon Vanilla Body Butter

  • 2 cup jar (or other sealable container)

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup cacao butter
  • ½ cup shea butter
  • ½ cup almond oil
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • 1 scraped vanilla bean
  • 30-40 drops lemon essential oil

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter and oils: Begin by melting the cacao butter and shea butter in a double boiler or a heat-safe bowl set over a pot of simmering water. Stir occasionally until fully melted.
  • Let mixture cool and thicken: Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool and thicken (but not fully solidify). Put the mixture in the fridge for about 20 minutes to speed up the process.
  • Scrape vanilla bean seeds and add essential oils: Scrape the vanilla bean and add it to the mixture with the lemon essential oils. Stir well to combine, then place in the fridge for 1.5-2 hours until thickened.
  • Whip the butter: After thickening, use a hand mixer to whip the body butter until creamy.
  • Transfer to a jar: Transfer the body butter to a sealable container. Enjoy!
