Classic Margarita with Vanilla Salt

- 1½ oz tequila
- 1 oz orange liqueur (Cointreau, Triple Sec, etc.)
- ¾ oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- ¼ oz vanilla syrup (optional, for a sweeter drink)
- vanilla salt (for salted rim)
- lime wheel (garnish)
Prep Work:
Cut a lime in half, then cut a thin circle off one half and place to the side for your garnish.
Dump a thin layer of vanilla salt onto a small plate. Take one of the lime halves and generously rub it along the rim of your glass. Dip the edge into the salt.
Place the glass in the freezer, or fill it with ice to chill.
Juice your limes using a citrus juicer.
Make the Cocktail:
Add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, vanilla syrup (if desired), and a pinch of vanilla salt (optional) to a cocktail shaker. Then fill with ice. Shake well, then strain into your chilled margarita glass. Garnish with a lime wheel. Serve and enjoy!
