Vanilla White Hot Cacao is the perfect wintertime drink! This is another excellent recipe from Mena, AKA “The Corn Free Hippie.” She provides lots of allergy-friendly recipes on her blog Live Free & Thrive. She has also contributed other recipes to our allergy-friendly recipes page.
Whether you need a way to warm up after a snowy day or just want to cuddle up in a blanket and watch movies, this is the drink for you! This Vanilla Hot Cacao has lots of room for variety and the option to make it uniquely yours. Mena recommends using 2 1/2 tsp. of Singing Dog Vanilla extract, but you can also use our Vanilla Bean Paste if you like. Additionally, the maple syrup could be substituted for Coconut Sugar (We’re sure you can guess what we recommend!). Furthermore, you can make this drink sweeter by adding more syrup or sugar. However, if you decide to use white chocolate chips, you may want to limit the sugar because the chips have a lot of sugar.
Another important note is that due to the fat content in cacao butter, there is a possibility that fat bubbles may surface on the top. A film may also form as the beverage cools. This is normal, so don’t worry! Simply stir the beverage a bit to remove them!
