Vanilla Bean Cake

Did you think a vanilla company would leave its fans without a classic vanilla bean cake? Of course not! If you’re familiar with us, you know we have a silly name, but we are serious about vanilla. That means you know this cake is serious. We used vanilla extract and bean paste, which gives the cake a fantastic flavor, and you can see and admire the vanilla specks. The vanillatude doesn’t end there, though. We frosted it with our organic vanilla frosting mix, which, if you didn’t know, comes with a packet of ground vanilla, so even from the outside, your friends and family will no real vanilla was used to make this cake. That’s right, no boxed cake mix and no fake flavors; what could be better?

Ingredients and Directions

To make this cake, first gather the following ingredients;

  • Gluten-Free Flour: We like Josie’s Best.
  • Sugar: Sugar will help keep the cake moist.
  • Baking Powder: helps give the cake rise.
  • Salt: Adds flavor.
  • Vanilla Almond Milk: Provides moisture and added vanillatude.
  • Vegetable Oil: Adds moisture to the cake.
  • Vanilla Extract: Always bake with vanillatude.
  • Vanilla Bean Paste: Always bake with vanillatude. Using vanilla bean paste will give the cake vanilla specks throughout the cake.
  • Eggs: eggs provide structure, leavening, richness, color, and flavor.
  • Vanilla Frosting Mix: The frosting will frost the cake.

After you get your ingredients, its time to make the cake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 345 degrees.
  2. Combine all the dry ingredients and whisk them together.
  3. In a mixer, combine all the wet ingredients by mixing on low for 10-15 seconds.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients, and mix on low until combined.
  5. Mix on medium for an additional 1 minute (The batter will be wet).
  6. Pour the batter into a cake pan, and bake for 28-35 minutes (oven times and flour choice will affect the bake time).
  7. While the cake bakes, make the vanilla frosting by following the directions on the sustainable packaging.
  8. Let the cake cool for 15-20 minutes before frosting.
