Craving waffles? How about pumpkin waffles? These made-for-fall waffles are full of warm spices and loaded with pumpkin flavor. The crispy outside and the fluffy inside will make you want to have these waffles for every meal.
Pumpkin Waffle Recipe
Go ahead! Have these pumpkin waffles for a chilly weekend breakfast or even an autumn brunch. You and your entire family will love how the pumpkin pie spice, pumpkin puree, and vanilla blend together to create the perfect pumpkin harmony in every bite. To make these waffles, you will need the following ingredients;
- Eggs: Making waffles with eggs will help add fluffiness to the waffles. They also provide great protein.
- Dairy-free milk: Any milk will do, but use your favorite DF milk to keep them dairy-free.
- Melted Dairy-free butter: Once again, any butter will do, but it’s up to you what kind of butter you use.
- Vanilla extract: Always add a little vanillatude to everything you do.
- Pumpkin puree: After all, they are pumpkin waffles.
- Gluten-free flour: We recommend using The Waffle Mix from Josie’s Best.
- Baking powder: Helps give the waffles a lift.
- Cane sugar: Helps sweeten the waffles.
- Pumpkin pie spice: The spice will give the waffles that warm fall flavor.
- Salt: Helps round out all the flavors.
This pumpkin waffle recipe is straightforward to make. You will need a waffle iron, but to make them follow these steps:
- In a large bowl, beat eggs and stir in milk, butter, pumpkin, and vanilla.
- Add flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and pumpkin pie spice. Stir until just mixed.
- Spray the waffle iron with cooking spray. Pour batter and cook according to the waffle iron’s instructions.
- When the waffle is done cooking, add your toppings and serve! (keep reading to see some topping suggestions)
Pumpkin Waffle Toppings
Nobody wants a plain, dry waffle. Try some of these toppings:
- Powdered Sugar: A light dusting with some powdered sugar is always a great choice
- Butter & Syrup: The traditional toppings. To add a little more vanillatude, consider making some Maple Vanilla syrup (1 part maple syrup, 1/4 part organic vanilla syrup)
- Fresh Fruit: Try cinnamon apples!
- Whipped Cream
- Chopped nuts
- Peanut or other nut butter
