Honey-Vanilla Lemonade

This is a tasty lemonade recipe for those of you looking to add a little twist to your summer beverage. The great thing about lemonade is that it’s the perfect summertime beverage, but you can also enjoy it year-round. It even pairs fantastically with a wide variety of meals. We’re positive you will be able to find the perfect meal to pair this lemonade with. This recipe uses honey, so you can find different flavors of honey to create different vanilla-flavored combinations. In our most recent batch, we used Blackberry honey from a local Oregon beekeeper. Maybe we should try one of our lip balm flavors to see if there’s a great flavor combination to enjoy on a nice spring day?

This particular Lemonade recipe will call for one whole vanilla bean. However, if you use our Whole Vanilla Bean Organic Pure Vanilla Extract, it is a great way to put the vanilla bean inside the bottle to use.

We’re fortunate to have lots of fans, bloggers and recipe writers share recipes with us. Unfortunately, we are short on beverages and would love to have more. If you have a tasty vanilla-inspired beverage that you would like to share with us we would love to add it to our site!

For now, we hope you enjoy this Honey-Vanilla Lemonade!

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, honey, and 2 cups water and place over medium-high heat.
  2. Cut the vanilla bean in 1/2 lengthwise, then, using the back of the knife, scrape the vanilla seeds from the pod and add to the saucepan, along with the pod. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for 4 or 5 minutes, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture thickens. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
  3. Put the lemon juice into a gallon jug or pitcher. Pour the sugar syrup through a strainer into the pitcher and remove the pod*. Add water to equal 1 gallon and stir well.
  4. Serve over ice with lemon wheels or wedges.

*Save the vanilla pod, rinse it and place in your sugar bowl to make vanilla sugar or grind a 1 inch piece with your coffee for Real Vanilla Coffee.
